My latest album
Memories Flow Like a River
is out now on every platform!

This album is a deep exploration of the pipa’s sound and identity, questioning its traditional role and redefining its possibilities. By focusing purely on its sonic qualities, it asks: does the pipa remain the same when stripped of its historical context? In this work, the pipa becomes a medium for Fan-Qi Wu’s journey through sound. Each track unfolds like an intimate monologue, using notes instead of words to express emotions beyond language.
The arrangements are intentionally diverse, with the pipa shifting between supporting roles and integrating seamlessly into the overall soundscape. No longer confined to being the central voice, it evolves into a dynamic sonic element, participating in an exploration of its role, essence, and potential. More than an instrument, the pipa becomes an emotional extension, transforming unspoken feelings into music that resonates deeply with listeners.
