Fan-Qi is a Pipa player from Taiwan. She is currently pursuing her Master degree which specializes in Improvisation and World music performance at Högskolan för scen och musik, Göteborgs University. 

Fan-Qi is an award-winning musician who has been invited to cooperate with many orchestras as a soloist including TYCO chinese orchestra, NTNU symphony orchestra and GWO Wind Orchestra, etc. After she won the first prize in National Pipa competition in 2019, she started to immersed herself in improvisation and world music, hoping to connect with the world through her instrument—the Pipa.

Influenced and inspired by minimalism music, Nordic Jazz, and folk music, Fan-Qi has absorbed diverse vocabularies and developed her own voice in an eclectic, poetic, and spacious way. Her groundbreaking exploration of Pipa extends the possibilities of pipa music, creating an innovative, unique bridge between different cultures.

Fan-Qi has performed in cities throughout Asia, America, and Europe and has been invited to participate in many international festivals, artistic residencies, and concert series, such as Bingsjöstämman (Sweden, 2019), Nankan Children’s Art Village (Taiwan, 2020), Siren festival (Sweden, 2022), Babel Sound Festival (Hungary, 2022), IMPRA Jazz Festival (Sweden, 2022), Klänge aus Ostasien (Germany, 2022), Building Bridges (Switzerland, 2022,2023) OneBeat(USA, 2023)

Fan-Qi’s awards and honors include Axel Adler Scholarship (2021-2023), Carl Larsson – stipendium för konstnärlig (2022), scholarship recipient of Overseas study from the Taiwanese Government (2022), Ethno Mobility Scholarship (2022), and the holder of Hsing Tian Kong Long-Term Fellowship for Special talented Students (2018-).

Besides her solo works, she is also a member of Mykorhiza, PIPA-ensemble.

桃園人，自幼學習鋼琴，十歲開始學習琵琶，畢業於國立臺灣師範大學音樂系，主修琵琶，曾師事蘇筠涵老師，現師事賴秀綢老師。2021年考取瑞典哥德堡大學，專攻即興與世界音樂演奏（Gothenburg University MFA in Music with specialization in Improvisation and World Music Performance），並獲全額獎學金。

自幼便為比賽常勝軍，多次於全國性的音樂比賽中獲獎，求學期間也受邀與許多樂團合作演出各大協奏曲，同時也致力於跨領域之合作，擁有豐富多元的舞台經驗。近期熱衷於探索瑞典民謠以及自由即興，試圖發掘琵琶音樂更多的可能性，累積的跨文化、實驗音樂作品包括結合視覺藝術與現場即興音樂《between》、以瑞典民謠為靈感發想的琵琶與五弦提琴作品《Time zones》、融合電子音樂、合成器、視覺藝術以及琵琶之電聲即興作品《Until》，以及三重奏作品《Give Me Some Space》、《The Skater》等。

凡棋的演奏足跡遍及亞洲、美洲和歐洲等各大城市演出，並受邀參加許多國際藝術節、藝術駐村和系列音樂會，如 Bingsjöstämman（瑞典，2019）、南崁兒童藝術村（台灣，2020） , Siren festival (瑞典, 2022), Babel Sound Festival (匈牙利, 2022), IMPRA Jazz Festival (瑞典, 2022), Klänge aus Ostasien (德國, 2022), Building Bridges (瑞士, 2022,2023) OneBeat(美國, 2023) )
